Deanna M. Wendler Modde is Associate General Counsel, specializing in the legal and related policy issues involved with campus life, including student activities, student discipline, academic integrity, campus security, housing and residential life, student health services, disability services, educational records regulation, intercollegiate athletics, Greek life, and other general business matters. Ms. Wendler Modde also handles premises liability matters for the University, including the management of premises liability litigation. Ms. Wendler Modde received her A.B. and M.S.W. from Washington University and her J.D. from the University of Illinois.

Following law school, Ms. Wendler Modde served as a Law Clerk to The Honorable Kathianne Knaup Crane with the Missouri Court of Appeals. Prior to joining the Office of the Executive Vice Chancellor and General Counsel, Ms. Wendler Modde spent seven years with Armstrong Teasdale LLP as an Associate in the Business Litigation and Tort Practice Groups and has extensive experience in general contract, products liability, premises liability, construction, insurance coverage, real estate, antitrust, unfair competition, trademark and municipal litigation.

Ms. Wendler Modde is a member of the Missouri Bar, Illinois State Bar Association, American Bar Association, Bar Association of Metropolitan St. Louis, Missouri Organization of Defense Lawyers, and the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
